Why Cervical Cancer Screening Matters

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Uganda. Yet, it is preventable and treatable when detected early. Screening allows health workers to identify changes in the cervix before they develop into cancer, giving women the chance for timely treatment and healthier lives.

Our Community Campaigns

The Cervical Care Alliance – organizes free cervical cancer screening campaigns in partnership with local medical centers and hospitals. These campaigns bring services closer to women by setting up screening points in:

  • • Local markets
  • • Villages and trading centers
  • • Schools and churches

By meeting women where they are, we remove barriers of distance, cost, and stigma.

How It Works

  • Partnerships: We collaborate with medical centers to provide trained health workers and equipment.
  • Accessibility: Services are offered free of charge to ensure no woman is left behind.
  • Awareness: Each campaign includes health talks, brochures, and Q&A sessions to educate women about prevention and early detection.
  • Follow-up Care: Women who need further medical attention are referred to partner hospitals for treatment and support.

Impact in Uganda

We hope that our screening campaigns will reach hundreds of women across Uganda. Many will receive their first-ever cervical cancer tests, and survivors will share their stories of hope that will inspire others to take action too.

Join Cervical Care Alliance (CCA) in protecting women's health. Encourage your sisters, mothers, and daughters to attend our next screening campaign. Together, we can save lives and build a healthier Uganda.
